Lost In History...
History they say is told by the victors. It might certainly seem the case for the world known as Neclides, once thought to be Earth though the truth of this known only to a few. Most of history being controlled by the vampires. There have been many theories over the eons some that when vampires sweep in to save mankind from itself they took them to their world others that they renamed the Earth. According to lore humans fought with each other over many things and supernatural beings keep themselves hidden. Many feeding on humans for blood or other such things but a great war broke out. The human race on the verge of extinction were saved by vampires fearing the complete destruction of their food source.
Stepping in they took control with an iron fist opposing a strict set of laws and imposing them. Those who tried to raise against them were ending quickly or cast out of society. Other supernatural races also fell under their control as they decided roles for the creatures that lived under their care. Becoming the most powerful race they developed ways to keep control and the world was theirs to do with as they wish. Wolves were guard dogs and pets. Humans assigned value depending on what they desired of them. Special blood types given to the noble class as pets. Those who opposed cast down to live as rabble this was the new world order. Protection and security in exchange for obedience.
Before the vampires stepped in before the great war that almost destroyed the human race a young human by the name of Waverly was born. Born into an average family she had no reason to believe her life would be anything nut that--average. She can still remember when everyone thought vampires were stories and the day the world changed for everyone for her it was on the train.
She was 18 and coming home from work when the bombs had gone off. The countries of the world for the longest time had been dealing with it. This sense of too many people not enough resources till it reached a climax and someone pushed a button or said the wrong thing decided to take from another it didn't matter. The world was set into chaos. A chaos that spread like wild fire as supernatural beings crawled out of the woodwork hoping to bring reason to the race of man before it destroyed itself.
How they had choose to do this was part of the problem. They thought if they shared a bit of their powers they could create a hybrid human that wouldn't need as much allowing for less resources to b needed. In some cases perhaps they could take small amounts of the blood of the supernatural and exist on it for long periods of time. Creating a subspecies of their own but one from which they could still take substance from.
This also hoped some of their logic would pass over to what they considered an impulsive race. It was an utter failure. Instead of becoming a higher form of human they became a lower form of vampire. Monsters without thought that lived only to feed. Discovering that most humans could not become as they are whether in part or in whole without regressing. Those who were fully changed could remain sane by drinking their sires blood. And humans could be bounded to the life force of a vampire and not age but would die when the vampire died. However, not fully changing them or binding them almost always resulted in monsters.
And those monsters bite changed others into them. Adding to the already chaotic world and Waverly was the exception. She was on the train when by chance the vampires arrived trying to reign in the chaos. She would have died if not for him. Almost ripped apart by a monster when the leader of the vampires came to her aid for unknown reasons she called to him. He helped her to escape the train as she headed put into the street.
It was there that everything would change. The vampire wanted to go with her but lost her in the crowd. And she was attacked from behind, however, despite being bite she did not become a monster. She became a somewhat what they wanted. But a bit more having all the benefits of a vampire with none of the side effects. She decided to pretend to be as she was as her world slowly fell apart.
Vampires made a deal with the humans to save them taking them to another world. Those that remained agreed to follow strict rules set by the new leaders. They would live for the vampires and they would be given jobs and all decisions would be made by the vampire houses. The head of the house of dragon looked for her bit she simply decided to disappear. Secretly walking among the world. Some tell stories of her and most are pure fiction but she doesn't care as long as sh is left alone.
